From the play
Modified script

Regan
A second daughter of King Lear

Evidence:  What says our second daughter……
A daughter of Mr. Lear

Evidence:  Dad, I’m just like Goneril….
-princess in shakespeare’s play
but a daughter of  a successful businessman in modified script.

The language used is more polite

Evidence:

I pray you, sir, take patience: I have hope.
You less know how to value her desert
than she to scant her duty.

The language used is rude

Evidence:

And now, you don’t have any right to complaint anymore! So, just shut up and just ask for her apologize. Go back to Goneril’s house

The language that used in  Shakespeare’s play is difficult to understand because Shakespeare used the Modern English. However, the modification script used the modern contemporary English that much easier to understand

FROM THE PLAY
MODIFIED
Goneril

She doesn’t keep her words.

In Act 1, Goneril doesn’t protest when Mr. Lear want to bring his 20 bodyguard live together at Goneril’s house.

In Act 2, Goneril doesn’t allow Mr. Lear to bring all of his bodyguard. She said, “Listen, old man. I’ve told you that I have many maids. They can attend you in whatever you want. So there is no use to have all the men! They are not important. I have the bodyguard to ensure your safety. Can’t you understand?” to Mr. Lear.

Pretender.
In Act 1, she said, “Dad, I love you more than words can say. I don’t care if I am blind, if I am in jail, if I am a beggar. I love you as much as life itself, and as much as status, health, beauty, or honor. I love you more than any answer to the question “How much?”

In Act 2, she said to Mr. Lear, “So what? Is he that important that you need to defend him? He deserves it after all.”

It shows that Goneril only pretend being tender towards Mr. Lear because of the company’s share.

MY ROLES IN THE PLAY.

In this play, I act as Goneril in Act 2. As an actress in this play, I imagine on how I’m going to act out my part. Next, I have to revise my lines and memorize it. Moreover, I need to pronounce my words clearly so that the audience will understand my words. Other than that, I have to improve my voice projection for the drama since we will not be given any microphone on that day. Therefore, I will give my best in collaborate with the others so that we can perform the drama clearly.
Moreover, for this play, I assigned as Sound Engineer. The sound engineer works under the designer, and must take the sound design and ensure that it can be created in a given space. This involves selecting equipment to reproduce the various sound elements required, installing and testing it, and usually running the actual show. In addition, I have to plans and provide the sound effects in the play in order to evokes the mood and the atmosphere since it reinforces the action, performers’ voices and the production style and the action.

Role

In this drama, my role is as makeup artist. I take this role because I’m quite interested doing this role than others. Besides, I do prefer this as I love to makeup as well to myself. Makeup artist has considered as a person that apply makeup to the visible parts of the actors such as hand and face. This makeup is very important as it will help to make the face’s expression of the actors look clearly during the dramatization. Pursuing this further, as a makeup artist, there are some things I should to know. For instance, makeup artist has to consider the needs of the story in every scene: the age and race of the character, as well as standard continuity issues. Thus, I will do my best during this dramatization until it will succeed.
